Competition bookings and preparation

Is competition compulsory?

Competition is not a general requirement for belt progression. ZKS may offer invited competition-based progression opportunities to eligible students at certain points in the training year. Follow the individual invitation or Members Area information and read the Belt Promotion guide.

Book and check the confirmation

Use the current event invitation or Members Area booking. Select the correct member and event or day, complete the required payment, and check the confirmation. Do not assume a place is reserved simply because you have asked about it.

Before the event

Check the competition category, arrival time, clothing and protective equipment specified for your entry. Follow event staff directions and the rules supplied for that competition.

• Check the venue and travel arrangements; these may differ from normal classes.
• Bring the required kit and a labelled water bottle.
• Tell ZKS in advance about relevant support needs or changes to information already provided.
• Read the spectator instructions and check whether a separate spectator booking is required.

Changes, cancellations and questions

If you cannot attend or booked the wrong item, message through the relevant member’s record with the event, date and booking details. Follow the cancellation terms supplied for the event; a refund, credit or transfer is not automatic.
