Adult Martial Arts: Taijutsu in Aylesbury

Adult Taijutsu at ZKS combines stand-up striking, practical self-defence and introductory grappling. This is a route for adults who want to learn a broad martial arts programme, including complete beginners.

What you will practise

Zen Kyo Shin Taijutsu training includes stance, movement, punches and kicks, partner drills and foundational grappling. Instructors emphasise control and technique. A normal lesson moves from a warm-up to instruction, supervised practice and feedback.

Training offers opportunities to develop fitness and competence through regular practice. The self-defence element is taught as a skill to practise responsibly; no class can guarantee safety in every situation.

Instructors and progression

Sensei Timothy Gourley and Sensei Jim Hey contribute to the adult Taijutsu programme. Learn about Timothy Gourley and Jim Hey. Adult progression follows the adult syllabus; ask your instructor about readiness and grading arrangements.

Taijutsu or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

Taijutsu combines striking and self-defence with introductory grappling. Havoc Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling, positions and submissions, including gi and no-gi training. BJJ is a separate programme; competition is not a requirement.
